Yay! I have a second member. AND she is kind of an expert world builder.

I am going to try to put down some basic information about the world so we can maybe start a thread. It won't be a proper thread in the Birdwood tradition but...it will still be fun?

The question is what kind of thread we want - there are a few settings we can pick from within the larger world of Mentar.

Wader - A merchant empire with a king elected by the nobility. Nobility is hereditary but can also be bought. The capital is Wader City, which is a large Anak-morpork sort of city. Horizon is another important city, more spread out with green space and is based on Houston.

The most commonly worshiped Goddess in Wader is Mirrer. Almost every character people play in this place seems to have some sort of a criminal history.

Wader was once a part of Negal before a civil war which split the two.

Negal - Negal is more of a traditional fantasy setting. It is very feudal. There are some vampires in the south, though no one knows that. Negal has ocean access so any seafaring/naval campaigns probably should start here

Koolik - Part Africa, Part Japan, Part Ancient Rome. Family/Clan is important here. A great amount of value is placed on stories. Bards learn the entire history of a Clan and can recite it.

Cities of Clay - Small city states with a loose alliance. They are all different. They have a lot of trouble with all kinds of monsters/invaders etc. I probably don't know enough about any of them to set a story here...but if we find one that is not very well fleshed out maybe we could make it up and not step on any toes.

The Other Continent - there is another continent on the other side of the ocean that is very much a blank slate, but might be more based on historical fiction than fantasy tropes.
